NeatImage is one of several fairly well known commercial noise reduction programs, and while there are others often considered to be better in comparative reviews by people running Windows or Mac, it does an amazing job compared to anything else I've tried that runs natively on Linux. Having experimented with several GIMP noise reduction plugins with mixed success, I downloaded the NeatImage free version and, being satisfied with its performance on my K3ii's files at ISO ~800 (a common concert shooting setting) I got a bit obsessed with trying to streamline it into a GIMP-based workflow.
